FIRE VR — EPI Tertiary
Train your First Response Team members in an immersive virtual reality office environment. Your trainees practice using extinguishers on realistic fire outbreaks, in complete safety.
Immersive environment
A tertiary workspace reproduced in every detail
The FIRE VR EPI Tertiary environment faithfully recreates modern workspaces for fire training grounded in the daily reality of your employees.
Offices and open-plan spaces
Workstations equipped with computers, printers, storage cabinets, and multiple electrical outlets. The environment replicates the specific risks associated with IT equipment and office furniture.
Meeting rooms and corridors
Circulation areas, staircases, marked emergency exits, and fire doors. The trainee becomes familiar with the evacuation plan and the building's safety equipment.
Break room and kitchen
Kitchen area with microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. These spaces represent specific risk zones in tertiary buildings, with corresponding fire scenarios (overheating, cooking flames).
Features
Comprehensive and immersive training
The FIRE VR EPI Tertiary module offers all the features needed for effective and engaging fire training in an office environment.
Realistic office environment
Immerse your trainees in a faithful recreation of a tertiary workspace: open-plan offices, meeting rooms, corridors, reception areas and break rooms. Every detail is designed to enhance immersion and memory retention.
Multiple fire scenarios
Waste bin fires, electrical short circuits, overheating IT equipment, kitchen fires in the break room. Each scenario replicates a real-world office risk with physically realistic fire behavior.
Comprehensive trainer interface
The trainer controls the session from a tablet: scenario selection, fire triggering and control, real-time monitoring of trainee actions, skill validation, and automatic training report generation.
Virtualized extinguishers
The trainee uses real connected extinguishers that replicate the weight and ergonomics of actual extinguishers (3 kg CO2, 4 kg water spray). They experience the same sensations as in real intervention conditions.
Session flow
How does an EPI Tertiary VR session work?
Briefing
The trainer presents fire safety instructions and the principles of extinguisher handling.
VR Immersion
The trainee puts on the VR headset and finds themselves in the office environment. They discover the fire and must react.
Intervention
The trainee raises the alarm, selects the appropriate extinguisher and tackles the fire using the virtualized extinguisher.
Debriefing
The trainer reviews the trainee's actions using the automatically generated report and reinforces key learnings.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about EPI Tertiary VR
What is EPI Tertiary training in virtual reality?
EPI (First Response Team) Tertiary training in VR is an immersive training module that places the trainee in a 3D office environment. They learn to identify a fire outbreak, raise the alarm, select the correct extinguisher and intervene effectively — all within a safe, infinitely repeatable environment.
What types of fires are simulated in the tertiary environment?
The EPI Tertiary environment offers several realistic fire scenarios: waste paper bin fire, short circuit in an electrical panel, overheating IT equipment, and fire in a break room. Each scenario corresponds to a common office risk and requires the use of an appropriate extinguisher.
How long does an EPI Tertiary VR training session last?
An individual VR extinguisher handling session lasts approximately 5 to 10 minutes. The trainer can run consecutive sessions and train a group of 10 to 12 people in half a day, alternating VR exercises with theoretical content and group discussions.
Does EPI Tertiary VR training replace traditional training?
EPI Tertiary VR training complements and enhances traditional training. It enables multiple practical scenarios without the logistical constraints of real fire exercises (fire trays, outdoor spaces, smoke). The trainer retains their central pedagogical role and uses VR as an additional learning tool.
