Compatibility of FIRE VR connected extinguishers and Meta Quest 3
We recently acquired the latest VR headset from Meta to evaluate its compatibility and robustness with our VR training solutions, particularly our flagship solution FIRE VR virtualized extinguishers.
A Flawless Technical Integration
After quick setup and thorough performance and visual testing, we launched our application to simulate different scenarios in our FIRE VR Virtualized Extinguishers module.
We are pleased to announce that our scenarios work perfectly with the Quest 3, without requiring any prior technical adjustments to ensure proper functioning. This once again demonstrates the robustness of our FIRE VR connected extinguishers application. However, we had to redesign our controller mount to integrate the new controllers more optimally.
The redesigned controller mount
The design of the Quest 3 controller underwent changes requiring an update to our extinguisher mounts for the CO2 and water extinguishers. We decided to transform the existing model into a new design capable of supporting the Quest 3 controllers.
After a series of tests, we successfully developed a prototype that meets our criteria and fits perfectly with our connected extinguishers and FIRE VR scenarios. Want to switch to the Meta Quest 3? Click here to order the new controller mount.
What does this change for FIRE VR Virtualized Extinguishers?
The integration of Meta Quest 3 into our FIRE VR Connected Extinguishers solution introduces significant improvements, tailored to our fire training application:
1 Performance optimization: A notable reduction in latency and blur, ensuring more responsive and fluid simulations for more realistic training, reducing headaches and dizziness.
2 Visual quality improvement: Edge blur correction enhances the visual quality of fire scenarios, offering sharper details and increased visual immersion.
3 Expanded Field of View: The 15% extended field of view enriches the trainee experience, offering a more complete and realistic view of simulated situations.
4 Improved Hand Tracking: Enhanced precision in hand tracking improves the handling of virtual extinguishers, adding an additional degree of realism to the training.
In summary, the integration of Meta Quest 3 optimizes the training experience with FIRE VR Virtualized Extinguishers, offering more realistic, interactive, and visually striking fire simulations for our users.
Toward more immersive training!
By choosing the Meta Quest 3, you are opting for an enhanced and more immersive experience with our FIRE VR connected extinguishers solution. The optimized performance, visual quality, and new headset features elevate the quality of our training modules. We are excited to offer you this official Quest 3 support.
If you have enjoyed our solutions on the Quest 2, rest assured that the Quest 3 does not eliminate the ability to use our modules on its predecessor. On the contrary, it elevates your training experience, immersing you in more realistic and interactive fire scenarios.
We already have ideas for future workplace safety scenarios fully leveraging the advanced features of the Quest 3. We are currently working on a new version of fire training that leverages augmented reality, which will add an even more immersive dimension to our scenarios. Soon you will be able to train your participants in their work environments, further strengthening their engagement.
