FIRE VR - Version 2.0.1

FIRE VR V.2, an In-Depth Overhaul

Our teams have carried out a major overhaul of FIRE VR over recent months, resulting in a solution that gains significantly in FLUIDITY:
Efficient in terms of user experience with much simpler movement, door opening, and phone usage
Practical for trainers with improved connection and scenario launch as well as optimal stability of the headset-computer connection
Realistic in U&J with door temperature testing and intervention logic closer to real-world actions
Precise with the indication of the order of actions performed in the debriefing
U&J Type ERP Environment
Sets
The set has been entirely redesigned and new scenarios have been created.
Usage
Staff members now have a phone in their lab coat pocket. Simply bring your hand close to it for a few seconds to pick it up, then hold the phone near the pocket for a few seconds to put it back.
Intervention Logic Entering a Room
- The trainee checks the door temperature
They decide whether or not to open it
- They go to get an extinguisher, pick it up, remove the pin, and test it
If the room door is closed, they are teleported back to it to recheck the temperature. They set the extinguisher on the ground and the trainer deactivates it by pressing the round button on the left controller once, then removes the controller and places it on a flat surface. The trainee regains use of their hands. Once the extinguisher is picked up again, we are teleported into the room.
If the room door is open, we are teleported into the room.
At the moment of teleportation into the room
If the patient has been evacuated, we are teleported next to the fire.
- If the patient has not been evacuated, we are teleported next to them. Entering a Room Simply touch the patient with your hands or with part of the extinguisher to evacuate them. Once the evacuation is complete, we are teleported in front of the fire (in the case of a bathroom fire, at the automatically opened door).
Picking Up an Extinguisher Again If an extinguisher has been deactivated (in front of the room door, for example) and the trainer reactivates it (by placing the left controller in its slot and pressing a round button), the extinguisher is automatically teleported to the player (they no longer need to approach it via teleportation).
New Features (Office and Industrial)
Evacuation Plan
It is now possible to enter the address of the trainees' establishment as well as the emergency station contact details. This information is automatically added to the evacuation plan.
If the emergency station phone number and name are provided, numbers 112 and 118 are hidden, leaving only the emergency station number.
Usage Improvements
Easier door opening
Intuitive phone usage
Water spray extinguisher: Lance positioning is more precise
CO2 extinguisher spray has been improved
Trainer Interface
Interfaces have been redesigned for better readability.
Fixes
Evacuation of certain characters in the office and industrial environments has been fixed.
Extinguishers roll less when deactivated and dropped on the ground.
Teleportation at the foot of a door is easier, without ending up in the middle of it.
A progress indicator has been added for picking up the phone in U&J.
U&J scenarios have been reorganized as follows: confirmed fire, unconfirmed fire (false alarm), routine patrol.
An action indicator has been placed above the corridor door when a fire is detected.
Entering a room with an uncontrollable fire will now trigger an exercise stoppage due to excessive danger in all environments.
We plan to include this documentation on the IRWINO website or directly in the application soon, to inform users of the process to follow in U&J.
